Nikoloski: Focus on infrastructure modernization and enhancing regional connectivity

Skopje, 4 July 2024 (MIA) - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikoloski met Thursday with Matej Zakonjšek, Director of the Transport Community Secretariat, to discuss the implementation of the Transport Community Agreement as part of the European integration process, the Ministry of Transport and Communications reported.
Minister Nikoloski stressed the importance of the implementation of road and railway infrastructure projects on Corridors 8, 10, and 10-d as part of the European Transport Corridor. He assured that the government is strongly committed to their enhancement and modernization.
The meeting also addressed issues related to enhancing cooperation and connectivity with neighboring countries.
“I believe that, in the long run, Agreement for the Establishment of the Transport Community will enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service quality for transport users by opening markets and boosting competition. At the meeting, Minister Nikoloski expressed his hope that the implementation of the Transport Community Agreement will fully integrate the region into the European Transport Family and support the Community’s enlargement policy,” Nikoloski said.
