Skopje, 21 July 2023 (MIA) – The average monthly net wage paid per employee in May 2023 was Mden 36.465, up by 16.1 percent compared to May 2022, according to a State Statistical Office press release published Friday.

The increase is due to the increase of the average monthly net wage in the sectors: Administrative and support service activities (25.5 percent), Professional, scientific and technical activities (21.4 percent) and Financial and insurance activities (18.8 percent).

An increase in the average monthly net wage paid per employee compared to the previous month was recorded in the sectors: Other service activities (5.3 percent) Professional, scientific and technical activities (5.0 percent) and Transportation and storage (4.3 percent).

The average monthly gross wage paid per employee in May 2023 was Mden 54.675.

After the publishing of the data on the average net wage, the Government reacted in a press release saying the average wage stands at an all-time record of Mden 36.465, i.e., it has increased by Mden 5.058 compared to May 2022.

“The Government measures are showing positive results and the average net wage in the country is continuously growing amid the largest global economic and energy crisis. Our goal is a better living standard for the citizens and better paid jobs. The wages of the citizens will continue to grow in the future, because all government policies are aimed at the improvement of the living standard,” said the Government in the press release.
