Marija Miteva, Venera Latifi Azizi new government spokespersons

Skopje, 8 October 2024 (MIA) - Marija Miteva and Venera Latifi Azizi are the new government spokespersons. The two were appointed during Tuesday's government session, while Naum Stoilkovski was appointed Advisor for Communications and Public Relations tasked with spokesperson coordination.

Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski announced the appointment of government spokespersons in a MRTV appearance on Monday.

Miteva was previously a spokesperson for VMRO-DPMNE. She graduated as a lawyer at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University - Skopje (UKIM), holds a master’s degree on business law, and she has also passed the bar exam.

"On a professional plan, Marija possesses a rich work experience in the legal and political sphere, with more than 10 years of progressive work experience. Her professional history includes positions such as advisor for legal affairs in the Government, advisor for normative affairs in the City of Skopje. In recent years she's been actively involved with politics, which resulted in her election as MP, where she was involved in the creation and analysis of significant laws and political decisions that affect the country's future," the Government said in a press release.

Regarding informal education, adds the press release, Miteva has numerous educational qualifications, including project planning for EU projects, quality management in public institutions, gender equality, and media literacy.

Venera Latifi Azizi is a former editor and journalist at Radio Free Europe in Prague, editor at the Media Information Agency (MIA), editor and host at Alsat M Television, editor at the KOHA newspaper, A1 Television, and other media in the country. Currently employed at the Office of the Chair Municipality Mayor as the person responsible for public relations and mayor support. She graduated at the South East European University as a political scientist, and received her master’s degree in Diplomacy and International Relations on the topic "The Role of Diplomatic Missions and the Euro-Atlantic Integrations of North Macedonia." 

Stoilkovski is a graduated journalist at the Iustinianus Primus Faculty of Law - UKIM. ssh/nn/
