Skopje, 18 October 2023 (MIA) - As part of the 'We Are Europe' campaign, Deputy PM for European Affairs Bojan Marichikj visited on Wednesday the Struga Scout Camp, where funds from the European Union have been invested in cooperation with the Government to implement the "Youth Adventure Tourism" project which has increased the accommodation capacity of the Scout House "Krste Jon", resulting in turn in an increased number of tourists in the region. 

With a total budget of Mden 17 million, of which Mden 15 million are funded by the European Union and the Government, and approximately Mden 2 million provided by "Krste Jon", various activities have been carried out increasing the number of guests by 300 percent in the period from 2020 to 2023 with a focus on young people and foreign visitors. 

According to Marichikj, the benefits of European Union projects are numerous, real and give a real picture of what kind of future we can create for next generations, while investment in real projects opens opportunities for young people and significantly contributes to the promotion of European values ​​in society.

Struga and the scout camp, he added, are a unique destination for scout activities, events and gatherings of scout unions from Europe.

"The scout camp in Struga is becoming recognized as a major tourist attraction for young, active tourists throughout the year, with unique seasonal activities," said Marichikj.
