Skopje, 4 November 2023 (MIA) — The Macedonian Writers Association has published the 150th issue of its quarterly journal of literature, Stozher. The issue is dedicated to Macedonian poet Aco Shopov's birth centenary as well as to the 2023 Struga Poetry Evenings, according to the journal's staff in a press release.
The issue also includes an article penned by editor-in-chief Slavcho Koviloski celebrating the 150th issue of Stozher.
There is also a report on the MWA joining the European Writers' Council in Berlin on June 4, at the initiative of Stefan Markovski. The EWC is a non-profit non-governmental federation constituted by currently 49 national professional writers’ and literary translators’ associations and unions in 31 European countries.
The journal also includes works by Ilija Velev, Milutin Kitanoski, Goran Trenchovski, Elena Prendzhova, Ahmet Selmani, Biljana Rajchinova-Nikolova as well as a previously unpublished conversation between Tomislav Todorovski and Gane Todorovski in Ohrid in 1987.
"Given that the issue was prepared in August and September, it does not cover the controversies that arose following the MWA board resignations in October," the press release notes. mr/
