Kovachevski: Macedonian language on same level as official languages in EU, foundation of our identity
Skopje, 5 May 2024 (MIA) - SDSM leader Dimitar Kovachevski congratulated citizens on May 5 - Macedonian Language Day.
"Today, when we celebrate the Macedonian Language Day, we pay due respect to all creators of the Macedonian literary language and continue the mission of its affirmation and protection," Kovachevski said, as cited by SDSM in a press release.
The Macedonian language, the SDSM leader points out, is today part of our identity card in the United Nations, and by signing the Frontex agreement in pure Macedonian language, we raised it to the same level as the other official languages in the European Union.
"The Macedonian language is the foundation of our identity, care for its preservation and promotion remains our priority, because investing in the language is investing in the future. Congratulations on the Macedonian Language Day - May 5," said SDSM leader Kovachevski.
