Dimitrieska-Kochoska: Mden 30 million from state budget allocated for nightclub fire victims, Mden 11,2 million paid out

Skopje, 29 May 2025 (MIA) - Finance Minister Gordana Dimitrieska-Kochoska said Thursday the Government has so far allocated Mden 30 million (EUR 487,553) from the state budget in support of the victims of the Kochani nightclub fire, with Mden 11,2 million (EUR 182,019) paid out so far.

“Mden 30 million have been allocated from the budget of the Republic of Macedonia in support of the families of the victims and injured in Kochani. So far, Mden 11,2 million have been paid out for transport and accommodation costs for the families receiving treatment abroad and this process will continue,” Dimitrieska-Kochoska said at a Q&A session of Parliament in response to a question by SDSM MP Oliver Spasovski about the amount of funds paid to the families of the victims and the injured.

Apart from the budget, the Minister said the aid collected by the Red Cross was also in coordination with the Government.

“But also these Mden 30 million in support from the budget don’t include all the costs serviced through the Health Insurance Fund, since this concerns injuries that were very difficult and will require long-term treatment. The Government reacted very swiftly in this situation,” the Minister said.
