Munich, 18 February 2023 (MIA) — At the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski met Saturday with International Monetary Fund managing director Kristalina Georgieva and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development president Odile Renaud-Basso.
According to an official press release, PM Kovachevski thanked the IMF for recognizing the country’s sound economic foundation and its stable economic policies.
Georgieva voiced her approval for the government's economic policies as well as its use of the Precautionary and Liquidity Line intended only for countries that have a healthy economy and healthy economic policies, the release says.
Kovachevski said the state’s fiscal policy was focused on supporting citizens and the economy amid the energy crisis. The government is determined to achieve sustainable economic development, fiscal consolidation, and structural reforms in the medium term, the release adds. mr/
