Kovachevski: I’ll focus more on economic and domestic policy
Skopje, 28 December 2021 (MIA) – I’ll focus more on economic and domestic policy, said SDSM leader and PM-designate Dimitar Kovachevski after being asked how he’ll differ from predecessor Zoran Zaev.
Kovachevski, who is set to receive on Wednesday the government-formation mandate from President Stevo Pendarovski, told Sitel TV on Tuesday that he’s yet to decide on the composition of the new cabinet, noting that talks on the topic will launch on Wednesday.
“It’s difficult to discuss differences. Prime Minister Zaev was focused on resolving important issues and making difficult decisions due to which the country is now a NATO member and one step closer to starting EU talks. That commitment to resolving these issues left a gap in managing domestic and economic policies, on which I will focus more,” Kovachevski underlined.
He also denied recently talking to former President Branko Crvenkovski, adding that he handled all talks regarding the new party leadership alone.
“I’ve been a member of SDSM for 30 years and have had excellent cooperation with everyone,” Kovachevski added.
SDSM’s Central Board on Monday nominated Kovachevski as PM-designate and elected new party leadership.
