Skopje, 29 December 2023 (MIA) - Prime Minister and SDSM leader Dimitar Kovachevski said Friday the meeting with VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski would take place next year, before or after the holidays, while adding that all details on the discussions regarding the caretaker government would be made public on time.

"The meeting will definitely take place next year, before or after the holidays. We have seen from media reports that VMRO-DPMNE would meet to decide on their representatives for the caretaker government after December 31. Government coalition partners will also hold discussions and all details will be available by January 25," PM Kovachevski told reporters.

He added that SDSM has already completed all procedures regarding the caretaker government.

Asked about the surveys on party ratings ahead of the elections, the PM said polls from past election cycles proved to be wrong.

"There are many surveys that show various results. I am a person driven by goals, not one sitting in the party HQ and creating feel-good surveys together with my colleagues from the leadership. We are getting out in the field, delivering projects for citizens on a daily basis. Citizens see this and therefore the SDSM-led coalition will win the May 8 elections. The opposition produced similar surveys at the last parliamentary and the partial local elections and they proved to be entirely wrong, as will be the case now," noted Kovachevski.
