Kovachevski - Boyle: North Macedonia remains stable strategic partner, proven U.S. ally

Skopje, 10 May 2023 (MIA) - Over the past years, North Macedonia made several wise and brave decisions that enabled maintaining long-term stability, European and Euro-Atlantic integration, showing that the country can function as a real multiethnic democracy, concurred Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski and Congressman Brendan Boyle of Pennsylvania at a meeting in Washington.

Kovachevski welcomed the United States' strong focus on the Western Balkans region, voicing confidence that joint efforts can create a pleasant environment for investing and creating jobs in the region, especially for young people, while offering possibilities for an inclusive, transparent economic growth, higher levels of trade and direct investment, the Government said in a press release.

The PM thanked Boyle for supporting North Macedonia in making some of the most important decisions in the past period, and his vocal support in the House of Representatives for the Euro-Atlantic integration.

Congressman Boyle underscored full support for the country’s next steps in the European integration process, as well as the efforts in the overall development of the region. As a long-time friend to North Macedonia, Boyle noted that he was truly proud of the influence the Macedonian community has in the United States, reads the press release.

PM Kovachevski pointed out that North Macedonia remains a stable strategic partner and proven ally to the United States bilaterally and in NATO, focusing on the mutual commitment to security, freedom and democratic prosperity, as well as joint activities in combating terrorism and other threats to world peace and stability, the press release adds. ssh/nn/
