Mucunski - Geer: Country to continue to work together with the EU, focused on partnership and shared values

Skopje, 1 July 2024 (MIA) - The new government’s strong emphasis on speeding up the European integration process and implementing reforms that will bring tangible benefits to citizens, especially in areas of economic development, rule of law, and tackling high-level corruption, was the main focus of the meeting between Foreign Minister Timcho Mucunski and EU Ambassador David Geer.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mucunski thanked the European Union for its continuous support of the reform processes, stressing that the country will remain committed to working with the EU in the spirit of partnership and shared values.
The working meeting emphasized the importance of the European integration process for regional stability and the need for the swift integration of Western Balkan countries into the EU, taking into account the current geopolitical context, reads the press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In this context, the recently adopted Growth Plan for the Western Balkans was also praised as a significant political and financial commitment from the EU that should provide additional momentum towards achieving the ultimate goal of full EU membership.
