Skopje, 8 February 2024 (MIA) - Caretaker Justice Minister Krenar Lloga during the visit to the Justice Academy of Turkey underscored the excellent cooperation between the two states, which dates back to 2011.

As part of the collaboration, the Ministry of Justice announced that 13 participants from the fifth generation of the Academy for Judges and Prosecutors were sent on a study visit to the Republic of Turkey, the Ministry of Justice said in a press release.

“The signing of the memorandum of cooperation between the two academies in 2021 confirms the commitment of both institutions to improve the efficiency of the judicial systems in their respective countries. This includes the exchange of experiences and the implementation of study visits, which in the past have proven to be successful concepts for strengthening the capacities of the academies” reads the press release.

Muhittin Özdemir, Head of Justice Academy of Turkey, extended thanks for the ongoing cooperation and highlighted their preparedness to arrange joint study visits, seminars, and conferences between the two institutions.

“Özdemir pointed out that he is particularly proud that in 2022, in Antalya, an event organized by Justice Academy of Turkey and the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) was held, involving representatives from several countries. The first place was awarded to the 20 participants from the seventh generation of the Academy for Judges and Prosecutors, along with their mentor, Natasha Gaber Damjanovska, the director of the Academy,” as reported by the Ministry of Justice.

During the meeting, it was agreed, in partnership with TIKA, Ohrid to host a conference in May, resembling the one held in Antalya, focusing on the International Training Program for Contemporary Human Rights Issues.
