Job and Career Fair opens in Gostivar
Gostivar, 3 June 2022 (MIA) – Job and Career Fair has been opened on Friday in the ICan youth resource centre in Gostivar.
Deputy PM for Economic Affairs Fatmir Bytyqi and Minister of Labor and Social Policy Jovana Trenchevska spoke at the opening ceremony, emphasizing the Government's efforts in supporting young people.
“I consider that a clear vision for the future is what young people want and must see, but also believe that it is possible. A vision that must be clear enough, concrete and in line with their needs that will allow them to identify their ambitions and to live and work in their country. It is expected that this will result in the creation of 2022-2042 National Development Strategy,” Bytyqi said.
“The goal that was set when we introduced the Youth Guarantee to be considered successful was for at least 30 percent of the people involved in this program to be successful within a period of four months after registering with the Employment Service Agency, i.e. being employed, again involved in the educational process or will be involved in one of the active employment measures and programs,” Labour Minister Trenchevska said.
She said that in 2021, out of the total number of people who were registered in the Youth Guarantee scheme, 8,064 young people up to the age of 29 or 41 percent were employed, acquired skills that improved their employability and became competitive in the labor market.
“A new plan for Youth Guarantee is being prepared, which will cover 2023-2026 period and I believe that through this new plan we will achieve even greater results aimed at helping young people,” Trenchevska said.
The mission of the ICan youth resource centre in Gostivar is to create opportunities for young people by providing training, supporting them in job searches, and by creating an entirely new network of youth and employers. The center also acts as an innovation hub with innovative training curricula that will support young people in pursuing the jobs of the future, particularly in the IT sector, while also supporting the development of startup businesses.
