Tel Aviv, 27 March 2023 (dpa/MIA) - Israel's Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir has announced a postponement of legislation for a controversial judicial reform planned by the right-wing religious government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
He and Netanyahu had agreed on a postponement until after the parliamentary recess at the end of July, a spokesman announced on Monday.
The spokesman also said that a "national guard" would be established under the leadership of the far-right minister. What this means in concrete terms was initially unclear.
