Industrial production in June up 9.5 pct at annual level: statistics
Skopje, 30 July 2021 (MIA) – Industrial production in June 2021 has increased by 9.5% compared to June 2020. In the first half of 2021, industrial production rose by 6.6% in comparison with the same period last year, State Statistical Office data shows.
The industrial production in the section Mining and quarrying in June 2021, in comparison with June 2020, increased by 9.9%, in the section Manufacturing it increased by 10.8%, while in the section Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply it decreased by 8.0%.
The increase in the section Manufacturing is mostly due to increased production in the divisions Manufacture of tobacco products, Manufacture of textiles, Manufacture of wearing apparel, Manufacture of chemicals and chemical products, Manufacture of rubber and plastic products, Manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products, Manufacture of basic metals, Manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, Manufacture of electrical equipment, Manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c. and Manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers.
The industrial production by Main Industrial Groupings in June 2021, in comparison with June 2020, was higher in Intermediate goods, except energy by 25.4%, Durable consumer goods by 52.9% and Non-durable consumer goods by 13.7%, but lower in Energy by 23.8% and Capital goods by 1.6%.
