President sends greetings on Epiphany: Let's contribute together to blessed and prosperous future

Skopje, 19 January 2026 (MIA) — President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova offered her best wishes to believers on the Orthodox Christian holiday of Epiphany, asking the faithful to unite and contribute to a happy present and a blessed and prosperous future.

In her public letter to the Macedonian Orthodox Church — Ohrid Archbishopric leader Archbishop of Ohrid and Macedonia Stefan, the Holy Synod of Bishops, the Orthodox monks and the clergy as well as to the Orthodox faithful nationwide, the president sent her heartfelt wishes of joy and peace.

"I believe that the blessing of Macedonian waters will help us overcome discouragement and lethargy, inspiring us to be charitable and care for our loved ones and our community," she wrote.

"Only with kindness, attention, solidarity and empathy can we awaken the divine within ourselves, showing our true human nature. Aware that humanity is facing a deep crisis and difficult trials, we need to begin changing ourselves if we want to change society.

"Only moral and wise individuals create strong communities," she said, urging believers to avoid causing others pain and suffering. mr/
