Skopje, 31 October 2023 (MIA) – The price of heating will be increased by 4.51 percent, said the President of the Energy Regulatory Committee (ERC), Marko Bislimoski at a press conference Tuesday.
According to Bislimoski, in practice, for the average bill of Mden 1.800 in Skopje, the increase would amount to Mden 80.
Bislimoski said that regardless of the tax on Russian gas, there won’t be a new correction of the price until the end of the heating season.
“The ERC adopted decisions with which the end price for delivered heating energy for consumers supplied by ESM (Power Plants of North Macedonia) was increased by 4.51 percent, despite the requested increase of over 50 percent. With these decisions, the price remains stable for the citizens, while the three companies of ESM for the supply, distribution and production of heating energy are practically forced to make the Belasica heat pipe operational so that the system can function economically, and to fully use the heating energy from TETO,” said Bislimoski.
According to the ERC, a total of 64.000 households are being supplied with heating energy.
