Shtip, 5 May 2025 (MIA) — The national budget will be revised, most likely, at the end of June, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski told the press Monday.
In response to reporters' questions during his visit to Shtip, Mickoski said the timing of the budget revision depended on the upcoming local elections.
"About the revision," he said, "it makes sense to do a revision once a year. Last year, it was at the end of July, but this year we will have a problem because the local elections will be called, which is why it will happen most likely at the end of June."
He said that as soon as it was drafted, the budget revision proposal would be offered to Members of Parliament to consider.
"What is important is that the government's measures are giving results. We have had deflation in the last two months. Industrial production rose in the first quarter. We are the only ones in the region and one of the rare ones in Europe who have had positive net exports in the first quarter," Mickoski said.
"I am looking forward to a result that will surpass the international institutions' projections of our GDP," he said.
He added that the government had a "clear picture of the macroeconomic trajectory" the country should be on and the budget revision would reflect this. mr/
