Grubi - Vickers: Skopje-Durrës railway, Clinical Center and complete digitalization given priority

Skopje, 28 September 2023 (MIA) - First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Political System and Inter-Community Relations, Artan Grubi, met Thursday with UK Prime Minister's Trade Envoy to the Western Balkans, Martin Vickers, accompanied by British Ambassador Matthew Lawson, discussing bilateral relations, economic and trade cooperation, the British Business Association and support for regional stability and security, including current ongoing projects such as the Skopje-Durrës railway line, the Clinical Center and complete digitalization of the Government and government services.

Relations between the two countries are stable, including the economic and commercial cooperation, with Grubi emphasizing that the United Kingdom is the second-largest investor in the country, while North Macedonia is the top trading partner from the Western Balkans, the Ministry of Political System said in a press release.

The work of British companies in North Macedonia is highly valued, especially with the formation of the British Business Association, which will help attract new investments, with special emphasis on those from the energy and infrastructure sector.

Interlocutors also discussed current political developments in North Macedonia and the region, and the continued support in the direction of strengthening democratic capacities, maintaining and strengthening regional stability and security within NATO and on the road to EU membership, reads the press release. ssh/ik/
