Government endorses law enabling return of icons from Albania
Skopje, 7 March 2023 (MIA) - The Government endorsed Tuesday the draft-law on ratification of a cooperation agreement between the Republic of North Macedonia and the Republic of Albania for the return of icons that had been unlawfully taken out of the country of origin.
The law has been forwarded for Parliament approval, the Government said in a press release.
It added that the return of this exceptionally valuable cultural heritage will enhance cultural relations between the two countries and manifest the serious commitment of both countries to the effective protection of cultural heritage and implementation of international conventions in the field.
