Bogdanci, 25 July 2022 (MIA) - A fire that broke out yesterday near the village of Gjavato in the southeastern part of the country has been contained and there are no hotspots. Firefighting teams are at the site to monitor the situation, Bogdanci Mayor Blazhe Shapov said Monday. According to him, yesterday's fire was high risk. "Thanks to a swift response and hours-long firefighting efforts, the fire was contained and the properties of the village residents were protected," Shapov said thanking the Crisis Management Center, the Rescue and Protection Directorate, the Interior Ministry and local authorities for deploying assistance. The Mayor called for vigilance and responsible behavior during the wildfire season.
