Gevgelija students visit MIA as part of media literacy project

Skopje, 3 December 2023 (MIA) - Students from primary and secondary schools in the Gevgelija municipality visited on Saturday the Media Information Agency (MIA) as part of the ‘I = Medium’ project. This initiative, focusing on media literacy among students, is being implemented by the Citizens' Association 'From Station to Border' based in Gevgelija.

Students were introduced with the working process at MIA and how journalists fact-check information before publishing it.

They were instructed on recognizing false news and the tools to use for fact-checking information.

Students visited one of the MIA's studios, where they were introduced to the interview recording process.

The project is implemented within the Regional Programme on Local Democracy in the Western Balkans 2 (ReLOaD2), funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The project is co-financed by the Municipality of Gevgelija.
