Skopje, 6 August 2021 (MIA) – A wildfire near army ammunition reserves warehouse in Krivi Dol, eastern North Macedonia, has been brought under control after a swift intervention of the army and local authorities. The ammunition storage has been protected as a result, the Defence Ministry said Friday. “Soldiers dispatched here managed to put out the fire overnight and to protect the facility and thus protect the local population,” Defence Minister Radmila Shekereinska said Friday while visiting the soldiers to thank them for their “selfless efforts” in extinguishing the fires. Soldiers are deployed to support joint efforts to combat the wildfires, she said. “The citizens can rely on the institutions, which have to keep investing in the protection and rescue system,” added Shekerinska.
