Skopje, 13 February 2025 (MIA) - Judiciary reforms are of key importance and the Government's announcements for replacement of Judicial Council members and the Chief Prosecutor do not amount to any reforms but pressure and partisan judiciary, said SDSM leader Venko Filipche on Thursday.

Filipche told a press conference that if the system is intruded now, then the entire reform process would be delayed.

"I think there is no reason why we should not move along the reform path of the judiciary as set in the reform agenda within the growth plan coming from Brussels. SDSM will support all reform laws in this field. We consider all other actions to be an intrusion in the system and an attempt for partisanship," said Filipche.

According to him, a new Criminal Code should be adopted, one that is compatible to the European law, whereas any ad hoc solutions would not produce results.
