Filipche: Commission for Infectious Diseases to discuss new restrictions for unvaccinated persons
Skopje, 16 November 2021 (MIA) – The Commission for Infectious Diseases will meet on Wednesday to discuss new restrictions for unvaccinated persons in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Health Minister Venko Filipche told Kanal 5 TV that proposals will be submitted to the Government after the meeting. “Hospitals are mostly filled with unvaccinated patients. We cannot tolerate this any further. The winter is coming, the flu period is here, and other patients will additionally burden hospital capacities. It is absolutely unacceptable that citizens fail to get a jab amid sufficient vaccine quantities. Vaccination not only protects their health, but also the health system in general. We cannot let the system be strained indefinitely,” says Filipche. He adds they have been in communication with other regional and European countries in recent days on the restrictions in force there.
