Skopje, 7 June 2023 (MIA) – The total value of exported goods from North Macedonia in Q1 2023 amounted to $3.005.376.000 and is up by 3.1 percent compared to the same period last year, said the State Statistical Office in a press release Wednesday.

The total value of imported goods in the same period was $3.899.163.000, which is 10.7 percent less compared to the same period last year.

The trade deficit in the January – April 2023 period was $893.786.000.

External trade by products shows that in exports the most significant products are supported catalysts with precious metal or precious metal compounds as the active substance, ignition wiring sets and other wiring sets of a kind used in vehicles, aircraft or ships, the electricity and flat-rolled products of iron or non-alloy steel, not clad, plated or coated. 

In imports, the most significant products are petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude), other metals of the platinum group and alloys thereof, unwrought or in powder form, platinum and platinum alloys, unwrought or in powder form and colloidal precious metals; compounds, inorganic or organic, of precious metals, whether chemically defined; amalgams of precious metals.

In the period January-April 2023, according to the total external trade volume, the most important trade partners of the North Macedonia were Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Serbia and Bulgaria.
