Exports and imports up in first half of 2025: statistics

Skopje, 5 August 2025 (MIA) - The total value of exported goods from the Republic of North Macedonia in period January-June amounted to Mden 249.07 billion (EUR 4.04 billion), a 2.9% increase compared to the same period last year. The value of imported goods in the same period was Mden 349.61 billion (EUR 5.67 billion), or 2.4% more than the same period last year, the State Statistical Office said in a press release.
The external trade by products by the Standard International Trade Classification shows that in the exports the most significant products were: supported catalysts with precious metal or precious metal compounds as the active substance, ignition wiring sets and other wiring sets of a kind used in vehicles, aircraft or ships, parts of the seats of subgroup 821.1 and other supported catalysts.
In the imports, the most significant products were: petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude), other metals of the platinum group and alloys thereof, unwrought or in powder form, platinum and platinum alloys, unwrought or in powder form and electricity.
In period January-June, according to the total external trade volume, the most important trade partners of the Republic of North Macedonia were Germany, Great Britain, Greece, China and Serbia, which made up 47.3% of the total volume of trade. The EU Member States accounted for 60.4% of the total trade.
