Ex-PM Gruevski registers business in Hungary: reports
Skopje, 28 July 2021 (MIA) – Former prime minister Nikola Gruevski, who was awarded asylum after fleeing to Hungary, has registered a company in a town near the capital Budapest.
Deutsche Welle has reported, citing documents published by the Hungarian company registry, that Nikola Gruevski was approved to start a business, a limited liability company, based in Pécel.
Documents show that Gruevski’s firm will branch out in at least 10 different sectors, including selling of porcelain, cleaning solutions, wholesale of food products, beverages and tobacco. The company, according to Hungarian laws, will also have dealings in business management, public communications, advertising, market research and public opinion polls.
Gruevski spent EUR 8,350 to register the company. Instead of providing his address in Hungary, he listed his lawyer’s address in Budapest, it was reported.
According to Deustche Welle sources in Hungary, Gruevski most likely wanted his address in Hungary, where he fled in November 2018, to remain a secret, but he had no problem to provide a Skopje address as the second address for communication, in fact his home address before fleeing to Hungary.
