European Front’s no-confidence motion a ‘low attempt’ to manipulate public, says Interior Minister

Skopje, 4 December 2024 (MIA) - Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski said Wednesday that the motion of no-confidence submitted against him by the DUI-led European Front is a “low attempt to manipulate the public”, noting that lawmakers in Parliament will act in line with their beliefs.

Toshkovski said the statements of the opposition, especially DUI, in recent times are “contradictory”.

“The Macedonian citizens, the Macedonian people, know well what hides behind this motion. I wish them luck. Parliament will act in line with its beliefs. I honestly believe this is a low attempt to manipulate the public,” Toshkovski told journalists.

European Front MPs submitted motions of no-confidence against four members of the Government on Tuesday, including Interior Minister Toshkovski and his Deputy Astrit Iseni, who, they said, “are responsible for the incidents that took place on Albanian Flag Day”.

The MPs also submitted motions of no-confidence against Deputy Prime Ministers Izet Mexhiti and Ivan Stoilkovikj, and called for Parliament to discuss the country’s security situation at the next session.
