European Front’s Bexheti: Will come out with position on reorganization of ministries once we assess bill

Skopje, 3 June 2024 (MIA) - European Front’s MP Blerim Bexheti told media Monday that the coalition’s MPs still haven’t received the bill for the legal amendments related to the reorganization of ministries and will come out with a concrete position once they assess them.

“Regarding the bill that requires a two-third majority, we still haven’t seen it. Once we assess it, once we receive it, we will come out with concrete opinions and positions. We haven’t seen it, but it is a fact that we have a different context, i.e., a political context where the will of the majority of the Albanian electorate and the other ethnic communities, i.e., the Turkish, Bosniak and Roma community who are a part of the European Front, isn’t being respected,” Bexheti said.

The MP said that based on what they have heard, the amendments will only serve VMRO-DPMNE.

“But, based on what we are hearing, this only serves VMRO-DPMNE and their election manifesto. And they continue in the few institutions that will evidently be led by the illegitimate representatives of the Albanians in the government, where their authorizations are being taken away, proving from the very beginning that they lack legitimacy and that everyone can do as they wish with the ministries and the authorizations of the ministries,” Bexheti said.

He stated that the European Front will continue with activities aimed at “defending the legitimacy of the Albanian voters” in the coming days.

“The Ohrid Framework Agreement is very significant and very important for all ethnic communities in the country, that’s why we took the first step yesterday, and many other steps will follow for the defense of the legitimacy of one of the main pillars of democracy,” Bexheti said.
