ESM submits 7.5 percent higher electricity price at EVN Home tender

Skopje, 30 November 2023 (MIA) - Universal supplier EVN Home received only one bid at the tender for supplying electricity to meet the needs of the regulated market for the first six months of next year. The bidder, Power Plants of North Macedonia (ESM), offered a purchase price of EUR 57 per MWh to cover 95 percent of the total quantity, which is about 7.5 percent higher than the one offered at the tender in June 2023, when it bid EUR 53 per MWh.

To cover the remaining 5 percent of the total planned quantity, ESM submitted the most favorable bid with a purchase price of EUR 120.01 per MWh. In addition to ESM, Sole 24 also took part in the tender. Elektrodistribucija also received a favorable offer at a price of EUR 105 per MWh to cover electricity loss. Previously, the price was EUR 100 per MWh.

EVN Home will now have to calculate the price of electricity that will be put on the market from January 1. The Energy Regulatory Commission will carry out control of the calculation, used to determine the price for transmission and distribution of electricity, which represent an integral part of citizens' bills.
