ESM: REK Bitola Bloc 1 and TPP Oslomej reconnected to national grid, Bloc 2 to be overhauled next week

Skopje, 9 February 2023 (MIA) – Bloc 1 of mining-energy combine (REK) Bitola and thermal power plant (TPP) Oslomej were reconnected to the national grid on Wednesday and have resumed smooth production of electricity. The blocs underwent short repairs after certain weaknesses in the production process were noticed by experts, which were then promptly fixed, ESM said in a press release Thursday.
As a result, adds the press release, ESM is back to operating at full capacity and at the moment the three blocs of REK Bitola, REK Oslomej, TPP Negotino with two boilers, gas power plant KOGEL, wind park Bogdanci, as well as the hydroelectric plants, are all connected to the national grid.
“According to the production plan of ESM and its subsidiary, REK Bitola, Bloc 2 of REK Bitola will be disconnected from the grid next week. Service activities which are planned to last ten days will be carried out at the plant,” said ESM.
On Wednesday, ESM produced 21.178 MWh of electricity. ad/nn/
