ERC issues licenses for 400 power plant from renewables since start of 2022

Skopje, 8 April 2023 (MIA) - Since the beginning of 2022, the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) has issued licenses for 400 power plants using renewable energy sources, with total capacity of 191.6 MW.
These power plants can meet the electricity needs of households with average electricity consumption of ten cities - Ohrid, Tetovo, Kratovo, Krushevo, Kriva Palanka, Sveti Nikole, Resen, Dojran, Debar and Vinica - or 76,000 households, ERC said in a press release.
In the first quarter of 2023, ERC issued licenses for 133 photovoltaic power plants, totaling 39.4 MW.
In 2022, ERC issued licenses for 267 power plants using renewables, totaling 152.2 MW, of which 106.5 MW are photovoltaic plants, 36 MW are wind plants, 7.2 MW are small huydro plants, and 2.5 MW are biogas plants.
