Skopje, 28 March 2024 (MIA) – DUI representatives Kreshnik Bekteshi, Artan Grubi and Fatmir Besimi at a meeting Thursday with the President of the Economic Chamber of North Macedonia said the party is offering a comprehensive economic program which after the elections will act as a kind of framework agreement between all political parties, while the business community reiterated its basic priorities: fight against crime and corruption, rational spending of budget funds, construction of gas infrastructure, direct assistance of export activities, transparency in the spending of public procurement funds.

“Our top priority is economic development, as well as the living standard of the citizens and the country’s integration, and other areas that are important and we will present today and these are an integrated economy, an open economy, a Macedonian economy, a just economy in terms of the legislation and in terms of the way it is regulated in line with the practices and the directives of the EU such as the anti-monopoly policies, anti-discriminatory policies, as well as a green economy,” Bekteshi said.

Bekteshi said DUI is an open political party that always listens to all relevant stakeholders.

“In this case this is the business sector, but of course we will also have meetings with organizations for the protection of consumers and other relevant stakeholders so that we can have a comprehensive program which after the elections will act as a framework agreement between all political parties in order to raise the standard of living while also creating a better business environment in our country,” Bekteshi noted.

The Chamber’s President, Azeski reiterated that neither the country nor its business sector can develop without the rule of law.

“Through this process, as a business community, we learned one lesson – you can do whatever you want, you can do anything you’ve imagined in your business, but without the rule of law, without market principles tied to the Euro-Atlantic integrations, you won’t have a single percent of GDP growth,” Azeski said.
