Net external debt at EUR 4.63 billion by end of 2024

Skopje, 26 March 2025 (MIA) - North Macedonia’s net external debt amounted to EUR 4.63 billion, or 30 percent of GDP, by the end of 2024, the National Bank said Wednesday.
In the fourth quarter of 2024, the net external debt rose by EUR 183 million, or 4.1 percent. In terms of structure, the private net debt still has a greater share in the total net debt, with 71.7 percent.
In the fourth quarter of 2024, the negative net international investment position (IIP) increased from EUR 193 million to EUR 8,767 million, which is 56.8% of GDP for 2024.
