Deputy PM Marichikj meets Sarrazin, Franges: Strong support from our partners guarantees success for European path 

Skopje, 22 November 2023 (MIA) - Deputy PM for European Affairs Bojan Marichikj met Wednesday with Germany's Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, Manuel Sarrazin and Special Representative of Slovenia for the Western Balkans, Anzej Franges, the Secretariat for European Affairs said in a press release.

The meeting focused on the realization of North Macedonia's EU integration by sharing experiences and opinions on using benefits from the growth plan, constitutional amendments, reforms and the certainty of Western Balkans' European perspective.

"North Macedonia and Western Balkans' joint determination, as well as the constant strong support from our partners, is a guarantee for our effort and makes it possible to successfully navigate the path to EU," Marichikj said.

Talks highlighted the mutual friendship and support for North Macedonia’s EU progress from both friendly countries, Slovenia and Germany, the press release reads.

Together with the Special Representatives, Marichikj assessed that EU membership is certain, and that the European Commissions' new Growth Plan will be implemented as soon as possible and utilized in its entirety in order to realize the country’s strategic goal for EU membership.

The two Special Representatives for the Western Balkans, Sarrazin and Franges, reaffirmed the European Commission's strategy for future enlargement, which presents a concrete picture for the inclusion of Western Balkan countries into EU, and supports our commitment to the negotiations process, implementing reforms, and the new Growth Plan for Western Balkans for the benefit of all citizens.

The Deputy PM reaffirmed the Government's commitments for further successful realization of North Macedonia's European future.

He also thanked for Germany and Slovenia's support as our political, economic friends and allies in implementing the reform agenda and strategic goals on the road to EU, the press release adds. ssh/sk/
