Criminal charges filed against 12 Macedonian nationals and one foreigner for smuggling of luxury cars, falsification of documents, abuse of office
- Police conducted on Sunday ten searches, including seven in Skopje, one in Dojran, one in Negotino and one in Bitola, after which criminal charges will be filed against 12 Macedonian nationals and one foreigner for 45 crimes related to smuggling of luxury vehicles, falsification of documents and abuse of office.
Skopje, 30 December 2024 (MIA) - Police conducted on Sunday ten searches, including seven in Skopje, one in Dojran, one in Negotino and one in Bitola, after which criminal charges will be filed against 12 Macedonian nationals and one foreigner for 45 crimes related to smuggling of luxury vehicles, falsification of documents and abuse of office.
The Ministry of Interior said Monday that based on checks carried out by the Skopje police - Gjorche Petrov unit, in coordination with the Criminal Police Department, the Rapid Deployment Unit, the Intervention Police Unit, Bitola police, Gevgelija police and Negotino police, and following orders issued by a pre-trial judge and a public prosecutor for the purpose of proving crimes related to luxury motor vehicles, six people identified by the initials K.S., N.P., M.S. and D.I. from Skopje, V.C. from Star Dojran and N.G. from Bitola have been detained after the searches. Measures and activities are underway to locate I.A., D.M. and F.S. from Skopje as well as A.T. from Negotino.
"During the searches, four vehicles, various official documents, about EUR 32,500 and various documents, sales contracts, five German license plates, about 25 grams of cocaine, laptops, several memory devices, other items related to the crimes were found and seized. Having previously confiscated 5 road motor vehicles and after material evidence collected, the Ministry of Interior will file criminal charges with the Public Prosecutor's Office against 13 people, two of whom are former employees of the Ministry of Interior, and one is still an employee of the Ministry of Interior, and have been brought before a pre-trial judge during the night and in the morning," the Ministry of Interior said in a press release.
