COVID-19: 682 new cases, 1,031 patients recover, 32 die
Skopje, 7 September 2021 (MIA) — Over the past 24 hours, North Macedonia registered 682 new COVID-19 cases from 6,425 tests done in the country, 1,031 patients recovered and 32 people died from coronavirus-related complications, health authorities said Tuesday.
According to the Ministry of Health citing Public Health Institute data, of the 682 new COVID-19 cases, 317 were diagnosed in Skopje.
New cases were also recorded in Kumanovo – 51, Tetovo – 49, Bitola – 31, Kichevo – 30, Kavadarci – 22, Gostivar – 19, Strumica – 18, Resen – 15, Prilep – 13, Ohrid and Struga – 11 each, Delchevo – 10, Probishtip and Valandovo – 8 each, Radovish, Kriva Palanka and Kratovo – 7 each, Shtip and Debar – 6 each, Veles, Negotino, Sveti Nikole and Berovo – 5 each, Kochani and Gevgelija – 4 each, Vinica and Demir Hisar – 2 each, Bogdanci, Pehchevo, Makedonska Kemanica and Dojran – 1 each.
Of the 32 people who died from coronavirus-related complications, 9 died in Skopje (aged 88, 78, 71, 69, 68, 66, 61, 53 and 42), 4 in Kumanovo (aged 84, 70, 63 and 58), 3 each in Gostivar (aged 71, 71 and 41) and Tetovo (aged 88, 82 and 82), 2 each in Veles (aged 80 and 72), Sveti Nikole (aged 73 and 53) and Shtip (aged 56 and 33), and one person each in Kichevo (aged 75), Ohrid (aged 62), Struga (aged 80), Debar (aged 83), Strumica (aged 70), Prilep (aged 65), and Makedonski Brod (aged 61). Twenty-eight of them died in hospital, while four died at home.
In the past 24 hours, 1,031 people recovered from the virus.
At the moment, 14,394 cases are active nationwide, of which 6,198 in Skopje.
Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has performed a total of 1,197,339 tests, recording 180,919 COVID-19 cases and 160,396 recoveries. The death toll has reached 6,129.
