COVID-19: 389 new cases, 698 recoveries, two die
Skopje, 29 August 2022 (MIA) – North Macedonia recorded 389 new COVID-19 cases after 1,561 tests were performed in the past three days (August 26-28), two deaths were reported, while 698 patients recovered, the Health Ministry said on Monday.
Of the new cases, 205 were registered in Skopje, followed by Bitola – 34, Ohrid – 22, Kumanovo – 20, Prilep – 14, Kavadarci – 11, Delchevo – 11, Tetovo – 10, Kochani – 8, Vees – 7, Shtip – 6, Gostivar – 5, Kichevo – 4, Gevgelija – 4, Negotino – 4, Kriva Palanka – 4, Berovo – 4, Bogdanci – 3, Strumica - 2, Radovish – 2, Debar – 2, Struga – 1, Vinica – 1, Krushevo – 1, and Makedonski Brod – 1.
Two persons died, both from Skopje (aged 79 and 85). According to the e-registry of COVID-19 fatalities, two people died, from Skopje and Kichevo, between August 18-22.
At the moment, 1,926 cases are active nationwide. Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has performed a total of 2,149,075 tests, recording 339,881 COVID-19 cases and 328,478 recoveries. The death toll has reached 9,477.
