COVID-19: 1,082 new cases, 492 patients recover, 27 die
Skopje, 26 August 2021 (MIA) – North Macedonia on Thursday registered 1,082 new infections and 27 fatalities after a total of 5,982 COVID-19 tests were conducted in labs across the country in the past 24 hours. Out of the confirmed cases, 406 were recorded in Skopje, the Health Ministry said in a press release, citing Public Health Institute data. Of the 27 fatalities, Skopje registered seven deaths, Tetovo-6, Gostivar-5 and Kichevo-3, while Kumanovo, Prilep, Ohrid, Shtip, Strumica and Makedonski Brod reported one death each. The deceased were aged 45-85. In the past 24 hours, 492 people recovered from the virus. At the moment, 13,235 cases are active nationwide, of which 4,710 in Skopje. Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has recorded 172,657 COVID-19 cases and 153,640 recoveries. The death toll has reached 5,782. A total of 1,130,975 COVID-19 tests have been conducted so far.
