Skopje, 11 December 2023 (MIA) - President Stevo Pendarovski addressed Monday the reception of the Managing Board and member companies of the Chamber of Commerce for Information and Communication Technologies (MASIT) on Monday, saying that according to official data, the ICT industry records the greatest growth for another year in a row in terms of the number of employees and revenue, which is why the country must support this sector.

MASIT's contribution in drafting the MKD 2030 Strategy is further proof that this industry is one of the priority areas for North Macedonia, the President's Office said in a press release.

"I do not see any other industry that is experiencing such fast growth and has such potential. That is why the Government, whichever one, or whoever the president will be, must be at your service 24/7," Pendarovski stressed.

Regarding achievements and progress of the ICT industry in North Macedonia, MASIT informed that the sector continues to grow, in addition to the number of employees, with a continuous increase in salaries, noting this is proof that there are success stories in the country, and that young people can have both benefits and great work conditions, the same as other developed European and world countries.

President of the MASIT Management Board, Ilija Gospodinov, highlighted several challenges MASIT member companies face. For this reason, he asked that state policies serve as strategic support to the ICT industry. ssh/ik/
