Skopje, 8 August 2024 (MIA) - A total of 40 wildfires were reported in the country on Wednesday. Nine of them are still active, six have been placed under control, while 25 have been extinguished, the Crisis Management Center (CMC) said Thursday.

There are two active wildfires in the Municipality of Makedonski Brod – near the village of Slatina and the villages of Tazhevo – Breznica and Jasen, the CMC said.

Fires are also raging in Demir Hisar, Chashka, Petrovec, Studenichani, Kichevo, Debar, and Ohrid.
