Skopje, 27 April 2023 (MIA) – Stojanche Angelov, director of the Crisis Management Center (CMC), took part in the NATO Symposium for building resilience in Riga, Latvia, as a senior representative from North Macedonia in the NATO Resilience Building Committee. The Symposium was held from April 25-27.
The goal of the symposium is to promote resilience as a primarily national and collective responsibility, adopting quick decisions and reducing societal vulnerability through the strengthening of national resilience capacities.
Latvian Prime Minister Krišjānis Kariņš and Latvian Minister of Defense Ināra Mūrniece addressed the opening of the symposium, and Deputy Secretary General of NATO Mircea Geoană followed with a video message, the CMC said in a press release on Thursday.
Leaders from the civil and military sector took part in the assembly, as well as representative of the command structure of NATO and the Alliance’s member states, as well as experts from the area of crisis management and resilience building policies.
“As carrier of the National Coordination body to implement recommendations from NATO and the Resilience Building Committee, the CMC aims for all-encompassing government approach as well as improvement of the civilian and military cooperation in the fulfillment of the seven basic demands detected by NATO as the key things towards building societal and national resilience,” the press release reads. dk/nn/
