Energy Minister Bozinovska meets Hungarian counterpart Lantos in Budapest

Skopje, 4 March 2025 (MIA) – Minister of Energy, Mining, and Mineral Resources, Sanja Bozhinovska met on Tuesday with the Hungarian Minister of Energy, Csaba Lantos.
“Károly Matrai, CEO of MVM Group, and Péter Holicza, Deputy State Secretary, also attended the meeting, presenting prospects for advancing energy cooperation between the two countries. The talks were focused on strengthening the energy partnership, infrastructure connectivity, and ensuring energy stability. Both sides highlighted the significance of continued collaboration in renewable energy, gas infrastructure, and regional energy integration,” according to the Ministry of Energy, Mining, and Mineral Resources.
Bozhinovska underscored that this partnership with Hungary serves as an example of how strategic cooperation can yield tangible results, from improving energy efficiency to enhancing interconnectivity and developing innovative energy solutions.
“Bozhinovska emphasized the Macedonian Government's commitment to a stable and secure energy system through the diversification of energy sources and the modernization of infrastructure. Hungary, in turn, expressed its readiness to support the energy transition processes and enhance connectivity between energy markets. The meeting reaffirmed the strong bilateral relations and partnership in the energy sector, with a clear direction toward concrete joint projects that will bring benefits to both countries,” reads the press release.
