Skopje, 17 August 2026 (MIA) - A total of 25 fires have been registered in the country in the past 24 hours, including four that are active and three that are under control. 18 have been extinguished, the Crisis Management Center (CMC) said.

Active fires are reported near the village of Morane - the village of Vrtekica - the village of Ramni Gaber in the municipality of Studenicani, where mixed forest is burning, and near Vidush, Dragov Dol and Lokvica in the municipality of Makedonski Brod, where low vegetation, low-growing forest and shrubs have been burned. There is also an active fire in the municipalities of Veles and Zelenikovo, in the area of ​​the village of S'lp, which is spreading towards the villages of Karabunjište Dobrino and Tisovica, as well as in the municipalities of Jegunovce and Saraj, near the villages of Kopance and Tudence, which is spreading towards Bojane.

The fires near the villages of Aldanci and Norovo, Borino and Zhitoshe in the municipality of Krusevo, and at the landfill in Kratovo are under control.
