Skopje, 15 August 2026 (MIA) - The Crisis Management Center (CMC) said Saturday there are six active fires across the country, while three are under control.

The CMC said the active fires were registered in the municipalities of Studenichani, Makedonski Brod, Veles, Jegunovce, Butel, and Mavrovo-Rostushe, while all three fires that are under control are located in the municipality of Krushevo.

Protection and Rescue Directorate (PRD) Director Stojanche Angelov said 27 fires were registered on Friday.

"If we take into consideration that certain parts of the country saw rainfall yesterday, this number is rather alarming," said Angelov.
