Skopje, 9 February 2024 (MIA) — Caretaker Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski had a working meeting with Belgian Ambassador Frédéric Meurice to discuss activities ahead of the upcoming elections, according to an official press release.

Minister Toshkovski also presented the Ministry of Interior's readiness for an effective fight against organized crime and corruption and explained the measures taken to speed up the issuance procedures for personal documents.

Ambassador Meurice welcomed the efforts in the fight against organized crime and requested that the cooperation with the Kingdom of Belgium continue with greater intensity.

"Regarding the deadlines for replacing Macedonian citizens' passports, Ambassador Meurice said it was necessary for the EU member states to take a common position on this issue," the release says. mr/
