Shtip, 16 March 2024 (MIA) – Shtip residents on Saturday had the opportunity to attend an Open Day of the Army featuring an exhibition of weapons, equipment and vehicles, see tactical drills, hear the military orchestra perform as well as taste army beans and tea, MIA's Shtip correspondent reports.

The event was organized near the Shtip stadium to mark four years of North Macedonia's NATO membership and the 75th anniversary of the Alliance.

The event was attended by Minister of Defense Slavjanka Petrovska, who pointed out that the country's membership in NATO guaranteed its security.

"Being a NATO member state, the country is a safe and secure country," she said. "Our voice is heard, and our contribution to an even stronger collective security is honored and valued. The Army is part of NATO, but NATO standards are also part of the Army." mr/
