Skopje, 30 October 2025 (MIA) - Mayor Danela Arsovska appointed Thursday Aleksandar Jovanovski as the new acting director of Skopje's "Communal Hygiene" public enterprise.

In a press release, the City of Skopje said Aleksandar Jovanovski is taking the position of head of Communal Hygiene, coming from his role as an inspector in the Department of the Inspectorate of the City of Skopje, and previous experience in the city's Local Economic Development Department.

"With his education, professional experience, and engagement in both the public and private sectors, Jovanovski will contribute to improving the standards of the public enterprise, modernizing waste management systems, and maintaining a clean, healthy, and environmentally responsible living environment in the city of Skopje," the press release said.

The previous head of the enterprise, Sabahadin Rustemi, resigned on Wednesday, so as not to influence an investigation launched by the Public Prosecutor’s Office into the capital’s waste collection issue.
